Scott D Parker

Downers Grove South High School
Teacher/Instructional Technology Coach
Downers Grove, IL
Scott is a passionate and innovative educator who believes in the power of educational technology. His experience spans seventeen years in high school science education in a large suburban high school just outside of Chicago. He has co-taught for ten years with a special education teacher to meet the varied needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities. Over the course of the last few years, Scott has embraced the use of Chromebooks in the classroom. He led the way from piloting Chromebooks in his district to full implementation of a 1:1 environment of almost 6500 students. Besides being a classroom teacher, for the past two years, Scott has taken on the task of being an instructional technology coach for his building. He has found many ways to use technology to differentiate for students, to enhance learning and to better assess student knowledge and understanding across all content areas. Scott has presented at local and state conferences. Scott received his Bachelor's of Biology degree from the University of Iowa, has Master's degree in Secondary Education and a Master’s degree in Educational Technology. When Scott is not teaching you will probably find him at one of his four kids sporting events or activities.
